Actually, during the Cradle Netcon event in Sydney, vidya balan told that she lives in a rented house with her husband. The actress revealed that when she married filmmaker siddharth Roy Kapur, she once went out in search of her house. She said, "We looked at about 25 houses but couldn't agree on anything. Finally, they found a house that they both liked, but it was on rent and that was something she was not comfortable with. "I didn't want to live in a rented house," the actress said.
Why did vidya rent a house?
After struggling to find her ideal home, she visited the same property again and decided to rent it. The Kismat Connection actress explained the reason behind renting the same house, saying that it is rare to find a garden and sea view in such a densely populated city. She joked that the arrangement worked out well for the couple as their landlord was happy to "earn a fat cheque" from the deal.
Finding the ideal home is a matter of luck
vidya balan further said that finding the ideal home is determined by luck, adding that one can feel a sense of ownership upon entering the home. Recalling her experience of house hunting with her mother around 15 years ago, she revealed that she was looking for a place close to her work in Bandra or Juhu to avoid the long journey to Chembur. During her search, the actress found her ideal home, but it was beyond her budget. She said that her mother inspired her to focus on managing the EMI and eventually the purchase became easy.
