Sonakshi Opens Up About Her Wedding with Zaheer for FIRST Time,!!
There might still be some time before 2024 ends, but sonakshi sinha has already had the best year of her life. In May, she delivered the biggest hit of her career with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar and won immense critical acclaim. And last month, she tied the knot with the love of her life zaheer iqbal after dating him for seven long years. The couple had a registered marriage at their Bandra home and threw a star-studded party for their close friends and industry colleagues at Bastian.
In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Sonakshi for the first time talks about her special day and how it turned out to be the way she and Zaheer had exactly envisioned. “Having an intimate wedding was always the plan. That has always been the kind of wedding that we both wanted. Zaheer and I were very clear that our wedding has to reflect the both of us as people, the bond we share, and the love we have for each other,” she says while promoting her latest Zee5 horror-comedy film, Kakuda.
The wedding bash that took place on june 23 and saw celebrities like salman khan, Kajol, Aditi Rao Hydari, Siddharth, Rekha, Huma Qureshi, Saqib Salim, Tabu, Sharmin Segal Mehta, Anil Kapoor, Richa Chadha and Raveena Tandon, among others, gracing it. In a video shared by Sonakshi and Zaheer from the day they signed the marriage certificate, Saqib, Aditi, Siddharth, and Huma were also spotted with the Sinhas and the Ratansis. Happy to have her friends next to her on her big day, Sonakshi tells us, “We wanted to make sure that everybody present there should have a good time. And that’s exactly what happened.”
A few days later, Sushant Divgikr, who also attended the party, took to social media and hinted that there were several gatecrashers there. “Just experienced several people gate crashing and/or trying to gate crash a celebrity wedding recently. I can’t believe people will get fully dressed, pretend like they’re invited and then sneak in!! For what joy? So you can enter and just make some reels? (sic)” he wrote. Sonakshi dropped a laughing data-face emoji under his post in the comments section.
Confirming the presence of gatecrashers at the bash, Sonakshi shares, “There were wedding crashers too here and there but I was too busy having a good time. I’m glad that they also had a good time (laughs). Every wedding be it big or small has people crashing them. Kuch log aa jaate hai khaana khaane and I think that’s okay even though I’ve never crashed a wedding.”Ever since they got married, the lovebirds have been sharing dreamy pictures from their wedding day. But the one photo that caught everyone’s attention is where Sonakshi holds up a phone to Zaheer in an elevator, both smiling and listening intently to a voice note from Shah Rukh Khan, who sent his best wishes to them.
