Maxi scooter is considered to be one of the most premium segments in the two-wheeler market. Although the concept of maxi scooters is yet to arrive in the indian market, many scooters with maxi style have taken hold in the indian two-wheeler market. In which the most prominent models are Suzuki Burgman Street, Aprilia SXR 125, SXR 160, and Yamaha Aerox 155. Other models like the Kia Viest 300 and bmw C400 GT are very similar in style to the maxi scooters. Yamaha TMax may also join this list in the next few months. Yamaha wants to expand its multi-cylinder lineup in india, for which the company will launch R3 and MT-03 in the country in december this year. The Japanese brand may also expand the multi-cylinder lineup with the next TMax. Maxi scooter was recently spotted testing in India. Some pictures of which are going viral on social media.
Engine
TMax is the flagship scooter of Yamaha, which comes with a 300 cc parallel-twin powering XMax. It is equipped with a 562cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled DOHC 4-valve engine, which generates approximately 47 bhp power at 7,500 rpm and 56 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. This engine has a 360-degree crank and is paired with a CVT automatic gearbox.
Hardware
Based on a motorcycle-style die-cast aluminum chassis with a twin-spar layout, the TMax is equipped with 120 mm gold-anodized upside-down front forks and a 117 mm swingarm-mounted rear mono-shock suspension. This scooter has 15-inch alloy wheels and 120/70 and 160/60 tires at the front and rear respectively.
