TDP demands revival of SC, ST welfare schemes

B Ramanganeyulu, the head of the TDP's Human Resource Development (HRD) wing, asked on monday that the 26 programmes for the welfare of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and scheduled tribes that were in place during the chandrababu naidu administration be immediately revived (STs). At the party's headquarters, Ramanjaneyulu told reporters that the resuscitation of the sub-plan for SCs and STs was in no way beneficial to either community. According to the tdp leader, the communities are more concerned about the sub-implementation plan's and legitimacy.

Given that both SCs and Sts benefit from the Nava Ratnalu scheme, does diverting the sub-plan monies not amount to dealing them an injustice? asked Ramanjaneyulu. He remarked and cited the tdp administration's implementation of 26 welfare programmes for them with these monies as evidence that the jagan Mohan reddy government had disregarded the primary concern that the sub-plan funds be used only for the welfare and development of both of these populations.

However, as soon as jagan Mohan reddy took office, he cancelled all of these programmes in order to exact revenge. Ramanjaneyulu claimed that free power was even cut off to nearly three lakh families in the name of possessing a two-wheeler. He said that while making up 16.4% of the State's population, the financial allocation for SCs did not exceed 13%, while the budgetary allocation for STs is only 3.4 percent despite making up 5.3% of the population.
