Remainder of IPL 2021 moves to UAE

SIBY JEYYA
The remainder of IPL 2021 has been moved to uae and the news is confirmed by bcci Vice-President rajeev Shukla. The remainder of the season will begin from the third week of September. IPL 2021 was called off temporarily due to the COVID-19 second wave and also players were tested positive due to a breach in bio-bubble. It all started with KKR's varun Chakravarthy and slowly the virus spread among the players themselves.

The schedule of the season is yet to be finalized. The season came to a pause after 29 games were played in India. Now, the rest of the season will have a possible restart from september 19 or 20, but the bcci has not confirmed the dates and they just informed the resume will happen by the third week of September. bcci should talk with other cricket boards over the availability of england and new zealand players to see how everything works out.

The Board is looking at a 25-day window and they are planning to keep double-headers every day to complete the rest of the matches within the stipulated time. bcci has also asked ICC to give them some time to take a call on the venues for the rest of the games. A clear picture regarding the schedule and venues will be made by august last week. Stay tuned with us for more updates.
