Will COVAXIN work on 2-year-old Children? AIIMS Chief answers!

Right now from the state of Uttar Pradesh, a 2-year-old little kid got jabbed with COVAXIN vaccine and this little one was also the daughter of a private doctor in Kanpur. She got her first dose today and lots of questions are peeping out whether COVAXIN will show some work on the kids? Already during the month of May, DCGI gave a green signal to Bharat Biotech company to move with the next phase of trials on COVAXIN by taking them on kids.



Even AIIMS in delhi and patna started to do COVAXIN trials on all the toddlers and kids. AIIMS Chief doctor Randeep who spoke to the press said that the data regarding this new phase of trials on kids will be available only during the month of september as they will also collect data only by that time. 


He also said the approval regarding the same will be got after the data is submitted to DCGI. He further added that the next 2-3 months will definitely see how these vaccines work on young kids and toddlers and then only we can proceed further to get regulatory approval. The doctor Randeep never addressed other questions related to vaccines and approval committee claims.
