The least vaccinated state in India?
The Union government has released statistics on the corona vaccine as of september 1st and according to the report, 55 percent of the 94.8 crore people eligible for vaccination across the country have been vaccinated since the first dose and right now, Himachal tops the list with 99.54 percent population. It is followed by uttarakhand (81.21%), kerala (80.36%), gujarat (72.17%), and madhya pradesh (70.73%).
West bengal ranks last with 41.24 percent of the population and it is the least vaccinated state in India. Of the approximately 7.12 crore people eligible for vaccination in the state, only 3.03 crore have so far been given the first dose. And apart from them, of these, 39 percent were given a second dose and this has been shocking as West bengal is one of the crowded states in india and the vaccination has been so poor.
In the first dose of the vaccine, Himachal ranks first and lags behind in the second dose as only 31 percent of people in the state have been given the 2nd dose so far and they have blamed the Center for not providing the desired vaccines. According to the 2011 census, West bengal is the 4th most populous state in the country with a population of 9.13 crore, and in this case, the authorities say that there is no vaccination quota in the population-based base.
