Tara gandhi Bhattacharya, the granddaughter of mahatma gandhi and Rajaji, who had been in charge of various social welfare activities since she was in charge of the National gandhi Museum and Foundation in delhi, had come to Madurai.

Khadi movements and Gandhian volunteers across the country celebrated the centenary of Gandhi's half-revolution. The people of madurai in particular celebrated with extra enthusiasm. The reason is that gandhi made the clothing revolution in Madurai. Since then, the bond between mahatma gandhi and madurai has continued. Gandhi's residence on Melamasi Road, madurai, gandhi Portal where he addressed the people, the museum where he carries his memories, and various organizations such as the World tamil Union celebrated gandhi for two days.

Tara gandhi, who came to attend the event, was very moved by the enthusiasm of the people of Madurai. When gandhi came to dress up for the evening at the museum, he looked at the welcoming people there and exclaimed, "I feel like this is my land, my mother's house."

Participating in the farmers' struggle in delhi against agricultural laws last February, he said, “I do not come here on behalf of any political party. I will always support the truth and I have come here to support them as the oldest senior citizens of the country, ”said Tara, who spoke on behalf of the farmers.

"Gandhi is needed more now!"

“The doctrines of gandhiji in the Corona period is much needed and such infections can be overcome through a simple, loving lifestyle. His thoughts are still needed. We have to take it to the people and add to it. ”

After paying homage to the gandhi statue at the gandhi Museum on the first day, he said, “The white colour worn by the mahatma conveys many things, truth and transparency. I pay my respects to the people of madurai who were responsible for his change of dress. Many have asked me if you, Gandhi's granddaughter, dress more like him. I am not Gandhi. She is different from him. But I have seen many colours in the white that gandhi wore. ”

In an environment where consumerism and religion are gaining influence, not only madurai but india must realize Gandhi's need.
