Classes Online, But Exams Offline? Students Protest

SIBY JEYYA
Students at madurai American college are protesting today, demanding that semester exams be conducted online. In the madurai Goripalayam area, American college students have been protesting in front of the madurai Collector's Office, asking that college lessons not be conducted online and that semester exams be administered directly and online. This is a problem that involves both undergraduate and graduate students. The area's traffic was affected when more than 500 students staged a road roadblock.

Anna bus Stand, Park Murugan Temple, Tamukkam, and Tallakulam were all closed to vehicles. Since then, around 100 police officers have been dispatched. Following the students' protests, the college administration announced that the semester assessment would be postponed for two weeks. However, the students' fight for the cancellation of the direct exam continues.

One of the students who was involved in the protests said, "All our classes were conducted online and we demand the exams to take place only by online just like it happened for schools as we don't had enough time for preparations and writing exams offline will definitely have an impact on our marks and career as well. We won't stop the protests unless the management decided to keep the exams online."
