Scary pictures at delhi airport amidst Omicron new protocols
Due to Omicron cases in India, we could see long queues of passengers at the delhi Indira gandhi international airport. The pictures show no social distancing as passengers wait to get their RT-PCR test results. According to the new guidelines issued by the center last week, passengers who are arriving from the risky countries which have many cases of Omicron new variant, have to take a compulsory RT-PCR test and other passengers from other countries had to take the test on a random way. The passengers who are taking the connecting flights or leaving to their homes had to wait for the RT-PCR results.

All these guidelines are made to combat the new variant which is said to be highly transmissible but the pictures at delhi airport show complacency among the people.

The authorities at the airport are seen struggling to maintain social distancing and people are seen squeezing among each other to get their RT-PCR results. Many people shared pictures of this crowd packed airport.

To prevent the new variant from spreading, these new rules were made at the airport. But this chaos and confusion at the airport give us more fear of the spread of the omicron variant. This confusion was also due to most of the flights arriving at the same time.
