The
event in which a female
police officer used inappropriate
language with a person who called the
police station for assistance in catching a crocodile in a
pond near Kollidam was shocking. A crocodile has been menacing residents in Papakulam, Sothiyakudi
village, Kollidam,
mayiladuthurai district, for the past two days. On his cell
phone, a resident of the vicinity contacted the Kollidam
police station and requested assistance in catching the crocodile.
One of the female guards who spoke to him at the time said things to him that he didn't like and threatened to pick him up at the station and leave him if he harassed him again. As a result, someone in the
village was astonished and notified the rest of the community. The residents then notified the forest department, which dispatched a team to capture the crocodile. The crocodile was seized by foresters who went there.
Meanwhile, Sirkazhi DSP Lamech has made meetings with individuals involved and appeased them following the controversy over an incident in which a female guard said inappropriate things to a person who asked for help catching a crocodile. "Before the guy who begged for help to catch the crocodile reached the
police station, there were three consecutive
phone calls," DSP Lamech stated when asked about the incident. The man was on the
phone with a female
police officer at the
police station at the time, giving the address of a street in Kollidam where he had been in an
accident and was battling for his life.
The female
police officer dispatched officers to the scene right away. However, there was no evidence of an accident. As a result, the crocodile
phone call only came when the female guard was enraged. He said it, knowing well well that it was also a lie. I've spoken with the person in question and we've reached an agreement."
