1.5 Lakh Beds and Oxygen Ready in Hospitals - TN prepares for Omicron
MK stalin, the chief minister, performed a field investigation to determine what precautions could be taken to avoid the spread of Omicron type corona infection. On the 24th, chief minister MK stalin examined the preventive steps being taken to prevent the spread of Omicron in coordination with the medical, public welfare, and other agencies. Following that, he paid a visit to the rajiv gandhi government Hospital's oxygen generation unit today, inspecting the infrastructure facilities set up to treat patients suffering from government sickness.
He also paid a visit to the DMS emergency oxygen cylinder storage facility in Teynampet, as well as 108 ambulances with life-saving emergency equipment. He then went to the 24-hour emergency call center, the Emergency Control Room, and the State war Room, as well as inspecting and issuing the required instructions to the 24-hour corona vaccination center on the premises. To prevent the spread of Omicron corona infections, 1.15 lakh beds are being made up in government and commercial hospitals as a precaution. In addition, orders have been given to establish up to 50,000 beds at the temporary Govt Special Centers, which are currently under construction.
The State government has established 222 oxygen Production Centers in collaboration with the central government and charities, through which an additional 244 metric tonnes of liquid oxygen per day facility has been set up in various government Hospitals to alleviate the shortage of medical oxygen during the previous Govt. The building has been reinforced to hold 1,731 metric tonnes of liquid oxygen. 167 tonnes of liquid oxygen can be produced by another 17,940 oxygen concentrators. A total of 25,000 B and D type oxygen cylinders are also on hand.
