On Wednesday, january 5, the Ministry of home Affairs sent a harsh letter alleging a "serious breakdown in PM narendra Modi's security" while he was in punjab for various activities. According to the report, the punjab government neglected to deploy additional security to ensure the safety of any road traffic. "CM Charanjit Channi refused to get on the phone to either discuss the situation or solve it," bjp National President jp nadda remarked of the punjab administration.

"The punjab administration was informed well in advance of the PM's schedule and travel plans. They must make the required provisions for logistics, security, and a contingency plan, as per procedure. The punjab government was also required to deploy additional security as part of the contingency plan to secure any movement via road, which was plainly not done," according to the MHA's statement.

The "severe security lapse" has been reported to the Ministry of home Affairs, which has requested a thorough report from the state administration. The punjab government has also been tasked with determining who is to blame for the delay and taking appropriate measures. PM Modi was supposed to speak at a rally in Ferozepur on Wednesday, but it was cancelled.
