Today, the indian government will be handing over air india to the Tata group. The government on october 8th, 2021 sold air india to Tata Group(Talace Private Limited) after a long biding process. This deal was made for Rs 18,000 crore. On Wednesday, january 26th, 2022, the officials had announced that air india will be handed over to Tata Groups by today.

It is also said that Tata group chairman N Chandra will be meeting PM Modi today. This will be happening ahead of air India's handover to Tatas. The official mascot of air india is Maharaja which also works globally apart from domestic operations. Also, a new air india will be constituted today and new CEO will be appointed from the global aviation industry. Current air india Group will be resigned and a new board to be started today.
Next week air india Express-Air Asia india merging takes place. According to the deal, the Tata group will be given air india Express and also a 50% stake. air india will be the third airline in the Tata group. It holds a major interest in AirAsia india and Vistara which is the joint venture with singapore Airlines.
