The residence of a female inspector at the Nagercoil Women's police station was raided by anti-corruption officers, who discovered additional 90 pounds of jewellery. A khaki uniform was also checked at home after work and found to contain Rs 25,000. Kanmani (52) works as an inspector at Nagercoil's All women police Station. Xavier Pandian, her spouse, is the Assistant director of State criminal Court in Nagercoil.
Kanmani had previously spent four years working for Kumari S.P. She and her husband claimed that they had added more property to the income while working as private inspectors in the office. The Anti-Corruption police received a number of complaints. Because kanmani and her husband ran the police and the judiciary, there was always a backlog.
Yesterday morning, the Kumari Anti-Corruption DSP Anti-Corruption police, led by Peter Paul, raided Kanmani's house in Ramanputhur and his buddy Amutha's residence in Meenakshipuram in this context. The cops seized around Rs 7 lakh in unaccounted cash and property documents worth over Rs 1 crore and 13 lakh during the raid. Today's test continued till 4 a.m. Several more documents were seized throughout the 22-hour trial.
Kanmani's house was raided and 90 pounds of jewellery was taken. Anti-corruption officers also recovered a document in Kanmani's mother's name for depositing Rs 43 lakh in three instalments in a bank last year. As a result, the anti-corruption police examined Kanmani's home and all of his things. Three bundles containing 500 rupees knotted with a rubber band were discovered in Kanmani's police uniform pocket, which was stored at home after work at the police station. It was seized by the police for Rs. 25,000. The anti-corruption police returned the 90-pound piece of jewellery seized in Kanmani's house after gathering information about it.
