Srabanti Chatterjee, a bengali actress, has been charged with violating the Wildlife Protection Law. Forest officials issued her with a notice on february 15 after she shared photographs of a tethered mongoose on social networks. The actress data-faces a maximum sentence of seven years in prison if convicted. The Wildlife Conservation Act has been filed against Shrabanti Chaterjee. She received the notification after sharing images of herself with a caged mongoose on social networking sites.
Srabanti Chatterjee has been charged with violating sections 9,12, 38, 47A, 46, and 46A of the Wildlife Conservation Act 1971, which prohibits the capture, transportation, and ownership of plants and animals. Srabanti has been summoned to the salt Lake, Kolkata, office of the Wildlife Crime Control Cell and Information Management Unit. Earlier this month, she posted images of herself with a caged mongoose on social networking sites.
Srabani Chatterjee's response to the whole affair was highlighted in a TOI storey. "The matter is under investigation, therefore I can't say anything," it said. According to the publication, her lawyer, SK Habib Uddin, stated that they will speak with the authorities and then have a complete image. "We'll meet with the authorities soon to learn the details," he said.
