Stalin, the chief minister of tamil Nadu, has written prime minister Narendra Modi a letter urging him to abandon plans to build an indian Neutrino Laboratory (INO) in Theni district. MK Stalin, the chief minister of tamil Nadu, wrote prime minister Narendra Modi a letter today (March 14) recommending him to cancel plans to build an indian Neutrino Laboratory (INO) in Pottipuram village in the Theni district of tamil Nadu.
Chief minister Stalin has stated that he would want to call the Prime Minister's attention to his appeal to the central government on june 17, 2021 for the cancellation of the proposal to establish an indian Neutrino Laboratory (INO) at Pottipuram village in tamil Nadu's Theni district. In his letter, he also mentioned that it would be harmful and it might affect several livelihoods around the area and Tamils will be affected much.
The chief minister pointed out that the proposed site for the neutrino project falls within the boundaries of the Madikettan-Periyar tiger Route defined by the National tiger Conservation Commission and that the neutrino laboratory project activities will affect the genetic development of wildlife in the area and other places.
