Yesterday (March 20), the coimbatore Corporation Siranayakanpalayam S.P.V. school Management Committee hosted an awareness meeting at government High School. GS Sameeran, the district Collector, was present and inquired about the school's development from the pupils and parents. "School management committee meetings have been held in all government high schools in the district," he later informed reporters. The school management committee should be chaired by the parents of a student attending school. The headmaster, parents, local officials, education advocates, and self-help groups will be among the 20 members of the school.

Arrangements have been made for 50 per cent women to be elected as members of the committee. The committee may discuss and take action on school development, infrastructure and other school needs. Everyone in the group should identify children who have dropped out of school and enroll them in age-appropriate classes to ensure that they continue to attend school. Although the government plays an important role in running public schools, the school can be further improved when the local people are concerned about the development of the school, ”he said.

The meeting was attended by a large number of teachers and parents, including district Primary education Officer geetha and Principal P. Shanthi.
