Ramadoss reacts on Pension settlement delay on Transport workers
"Workers in the transportation industry are not wealthy. The so-called retirement perks are a mechanism for them to reclaim their funds. Delay is not acceptable "Ramdas, the PMK's founder, stated. He stated in a statement released today that the families of more than 1000 voluntary retirees working in tamil Nadu State Transport Corporations who have lost their jobs are unable to receive retirement payments. The administrations' failure to come forth is deplorable.
For the previous ten years, all personnel who retired from tamil Nadu state transportation businesses have been sent home empty-handed. After several years of delay, retirement payouts ranging from Rs 8 lakh to over Rs 10 lakh per person were finally paid. As a result of repeated emphasis in this regard, retirement benefits have been paid to employees of retiring government Transport Corporations till 31.03.2020.
No one will retire for the following two years because the retirement age had been raised to 60; it was believed that the situation would improve from 2022. However, the situation on the ground is different. Since april 2000, over 1,000 employees have willingly retired, despite the fact that no one has retired due to old age. Hundreds of workers have died while on the job. They should have all been eligible for immediate retirement benefits. For nearly two years, however, they and their families have been denied retirement benefits. There are just pensions and family pensions available. As a result, the families concerned are suffering.
