The Anna - Artist Academy, the DMK office in delhi, was established by Stalin, the DMK leader and tamil Nadu Chief Minister. sonia gandhi, the congress President, was among those who attended the event. In 2006, the Union government decided to give a seat in delhi to a party that had seven members of parliament in both houses. It was ruled that land ranging from 500 square metres to 4 acres be allocated based on the number of MPs. In this regard, the DMK was given land in the Deendayal Upadhyaya Marg region of delhi in 2013, near the bjp office.
Later, work on the Anna-Artist Academy, the DMK's office in this city, began. In june of last year, chief minister Stalin paid a visit to delhi and reviewed the construction work, ordering it to be completed as quickly as feasible. As a result, the work was completed in december of last year. The building, which is 8 thousand square feet in data-size and has three stories, houses libraries named after Anna and Karunanidhi. The building was supposed to open in January, however it didn't because of increased corona spread.
In this context, chief minister Stalin inaugurated the Anna-Artist Academy at 5 pm today and hoisted the DMK flag on the flagpole erected there. Also, the statue of DMK founder Anna was unveiled on both sides of the building by the party's general secretary and tamil Nadu water resources minister Duraimurugan. The statue of former chief minister Karunanidhi was unveiled by party treasurer and DMK parliamentary committee chairman DR Palu.
