New Bridges and Roads in TN - 18 Big Announcements

During the debate on the Highways and Minor Ports Department grant proposal, announcements were made that included 435 ground bridges to be built as high level bridges at a cost of Rs.1105 crore and railway flyovers at a cost of Rs.577.27 crore in 12 locations across 8 districts.


The Industrial Estate connecting the Port of Thoothukudi via Coimbatore, Pollachi, Palani, Attur, and Kariyapatti via the High Road from Denampet to Saidapet to ease traffic congestion at 5 intersections on Anna Road, Chennai, was discussed in the tamil Nadu Legislative assembly today during the debate on the Highways and Minor Ports Department grant request. EV Velu, the minister for Highways and Minor Ports, made several significant announcements, including the preparation of a detailed project report for the construction of a four-lane highway and the construction of bypass roads to 23 cities at a cost of Rs. 500 crore, as well as the financial allocation for the project.


> Detailed project study to build a four-lane port road connecting Thoothukudi port to Chengalpattu town via Trichy, Pudukottai, and Manamadurai at a cost of Rs. It will cost 4 crores to make.

> Connecting Coimbatore, Pollachi, Palani, Attur, and Kariyapatti to the industrial-port route via Thoothukudi Port to develop a four-lane full project report Rs. It will cost 4 crores to make.

> The Chief Minister's Road Development Program (CMRDP) will see 150 km of roads widened to four lanes and 600 km of roads widened to six lanes. On both routes, roads will be enlarged and renovated at a cost of Rs. 2300 crore.
