The high court has ordered the Nellai district collector and the district SP to answer to a lawsuit seeking to declare Munneerpallam hamlet as the site of a caste slaughter. Petition filed before the high court Branch by Useykumar of Nellai Munneerpallam: On february 25, 2019, my son, who was a student at Polytechnic College, was assassinated by a group of people. Those who killed my son are facing a number of murder and robbery charges. The victims are all members of the list class.

The prisoners have been released on bond and are still committing crimes. The people listed in Munneerpallam village live in fear. As a result, the village of Munneerpallam should be labelled a frequent genocide region under the Prevention of Torture and Tribal Violence Act, 2015, and the culprits should be imprisoned and directed to maintain peace in the village. According to the petition.

Judge Ilanthirayan was assigned to hear the petition. After directing the Nellai district collector and the district Superintendent of police to respond to the petition, the court adjourned the hearing to june 28. The collector is keeping a muted response and is not reacting so far in this regard.
