Yaanai Movie Review - An Emotional Family Ride with Racy Action episodes
With the release of Yaanai today, arun vijay is back on the big screen after 2.5 years. hari is the film's director, and gv prakash is in charge of the music. In this movie, Ramachandra Raju, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Samuthirakani, Ammu Abhirami, and other notable actors play pivotal parts alongside priya bhavani shankar as the female lead. Here is our opinion of the movie:
Yaanai centres on the conflict between the PRV (Arun Vijay and family) and the Samuthiram families (Ramachandra Raju and family). The concept of Yaanai is what happened to the rivalry in the end and what additional problems ravi and his family data-faced in the tumult.
With Yaanai, director hari broke from the norm and tried something fresh. hari is typically renowned for his fast-paced movies with racy cuts and rapid switches between numerous locations. Yaanai uses more single-take shots, which is something we never or very infrequently see in Hari's films. The writing is rather good, especially for the main female characters. All three actors—Priya Bhavani Shankar, Ammu Abhirami, and Radikaa Sarathkumar—had at least one scene to hone their skills and display their personalities.
At first glance, priya Bhavani Shankar's role appears to be just another "Lusu Heroine" in tamil cinema, however this is not the case. hari eventually gives the character a goal and sense. The characters of Ammu abhirami and Radikaa have traits in that they don't merely sit behind men in the house. One of the film's best features is its concise speech, which is to the point. The dialogues are well written, especially the ones that criticise and poke fun at the caste-based backward ideas held by men in society. The family themes have really come together effectively, and the general public will connect with them. The break was undoubtedly a welcome surprise.
Arun Vijay gives a strong performance and convincingly portrays the role of Ravi. He has obviously changed to fit the tone of this film, as you can tell. With Yaanai, arun vijay gives us strong reason to believe that he is more than capable of playing such rural-focused roles with charm and enthusiasm. priya bhavani shankar is remarkable in a role that contributes to the action. She effectively fills the bill by displaying the feelings in her eyes. With his moving performance, yogi babu proves to us that he is much more than just a comedian.
Contrarily, the antagonism between the two rival families is not adequately described or established, and as a result, you find it difficult to empathise with the individuals. The movie's emotional foundation required a lot more gripping scenes to make us care about the characters. There is not even a small fraction of a threat posed by the villain, whose design is feeble. The fight between the good and the bad would have been interesting to watch if the villain had been more powerful. Although GV Prakash's songs don't really have much impact, the score makes up for it by giving the scenes greater intensity.
