Encouraged by the success of the Bharatiya Janata Party's national executive meeting, which took place in hyderabad on saturday and Sunday, the party's telangana unit is preparing to draw reputable people who, up until now, have held no particular political views but who can influence the electorate in the state's upcoming assembly elections. Following a recommendation from prime minister Narendra Modi, it is understood that the topic of implementing this unique technique was brought up for consideration during the bjp national executive committee meeting on Sunday.

According to sources, Modi had recommended that the party concentrate its efforts on luring well-known people and organisations who could influence the electorate. The party is preparing to launch a campaign in which its leaders would approach people in respectable positions and ask for their support. Leaders of several organisations that are actively addressing issues facing people would be introduced to the party. It will also draw people who actively supported the telangana movement but felt ignored by the telangana Rashtra Samithi.

The party would identify people who, in addition to teachers, social activists, lawyers, engineers, and RTI campaigners, have a patriotic viewpoint and a soft spot for the Modi government. On tuesday at 11 a.m., the telangana bjp office-bearers will meet to discuss the state's road map and to evaluate the results of the national executive committee meeting.
