Eight months before the polls, the ruling YSRCP party in andhra pradesh announced candidates for three Legislative Council seats. The three seats that will become empty in march of next year were declared as candidates by the ysr congress party (YSRCP) late monday night. The names of the individuals who would run for MLC seats from graduate constituencies have been decided, according to chief minister and YSRCP president Y.S. jagan Mohan Reddy.

He made the choice on monday during a meeting with the party's MLAs, MLCs, and other leaders. The Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam constituency will be represented by S. Sudhakar, chairman of the Brahmin Corporation. In the Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor constituency, the YSRCP will run Syam prasad reddy of Gudur, while V. ravindra reddy will run in the Kurnool-Kadapa-Anantapur constituency. Son of the current MLC from the same constituency is ravindra Reddy.

The elections, which are anticipated to take place in february or march of next year, will be decided by graduate voters in the constituencies, each of which consists of three former districts. In the MLC elections, political parties typically back independent candidates from the graduate and teacher constituencies. However, jagan Mohan reddy raised the idea of the YSRCP fielding its own candidates with the party leaders. He announced the nominees in addition to giving his approval for the same.
