Rape-accused Lingayat seer detained by police in Karnataka
A prominent Lingayat mutt seer named Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru was arrested on monday after being charged with sexually assaulting youngsters in Karnataka. The seer, who serves as the head of the well-known Murugha mutt in Chitradurga, Karnataka, was taken into custody in the Haveri area. He is charged with sexually assaulting female pupils at the mutt's institution. Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru is the subject of a FIR that the Mysuru municipal police have filed after receiving a complaint on their behalf.
