Famous archaeologist Brajbasi Lal (BB Lal), who was awarded Padma Vibhushan, has died at the age of 101. BB Lal is remembered as the archaeologist who discovered major evidence in the ayodhya temple-mosque dispute. While working in the Archaeological survey of india (ASI), BB Lal discovered evidence of a ram temple in the rubble beneath the Babri Mosque. prime minister narendra modi has also expressed grief by posting on the death of BB Lal. PM Modi has said that BB Lal will always be remembered as the great personality who worked to connect us with our rich heritage.

His contribution to the country's culture and archaeology is incomparable. He will be remembered as a great intellectual who connected us with our rich history. Very saddened by his death.'


Who was professor B B Lal?

Professor BB Lal was born on 2 May 1921 in Badora village of jhansi district. He was awarded the Padma bhushan in the year 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in the year 2021. B B Lal was the director General of ASI from 1968 to 1972. He is also counted among the youngest director General of ASI. It is said that it was B B Lal who discovered the evidence of ram temple in ayodhya in the 70s. However, no official report was made on this.

Expressing grief on the death of BB Lal, culture Minister g kishan reddy has said that we have lost one of the most intelligent human beings. ASI officials expressed grief over the death of B B Lal. The ASI has said in its post, 'Padma Vibhushan awardee professor BB Lal's contribution in the field of archaeology has been incomparable. He gave the entire 101 years of his life to this field. He may have left this world but his work will live on forever. people will always learn from his work and generations will continue to be populated. We pay tribute to him.
