Gujarati drama "Chhello Show" is India's official entry for the 95th Academy Awards, the Film Federation of india (FFI) announced on Tuesday. Fans of 'The kashmir Files' and 'RRR' debated among themselves. Two of India's official entries for the 95th Academy Awards have chosen their favorite films and another film has been selected as India's submission for the Best international Film category at the Oscars. "Chhello Show" which is the Gujarati coming-of-age drama is India's proud official entry for the 95th Academy Awards said the Film Federation of india (FFI) which was announced on Tuesday. Titled "Last Film Show" in English, this film is directed by Pan Nalin and will hit theaters nationwide on october 14.
"'Chhello Show" is India's official entry for the oscar 2023 said FFI Secretary General Subran Sen told PTI. The film is produced by siddharth Roy Kapur's banner Roy Kapur Films, Jugat Motion Pictures, Monsoon Films, Cello Show LLP, and Marc Duvall. Starring Bhavin Rabari, Bhavesh Shrimali, Richa Meena, Dipen Raval, and Paresh Mehta, the film was released as the world premiere at the Tribeca Film festival in june last year. The film is inspired by Nalin's own memories of his childhood love for movies in rural Gujarat. It won several awards during its festival run, including the Golden Spike at the 66th Valladolid Film festival in Spain, where it was also a commercial success during its theatrical run.
The oscar buzz in india started after the Film Federation of India's jury began looking at films that could be submitted from india for oscar consideration. On Tuesday, film critic and trade analyst Ramesh bala shared on twitter that from september 16th, Film Federation of india jury members is looking at indian films for #Oscars India's official entry.
Expected to be announced by october 1st week or before. #RRR, # Some of the movies under consideration are TheKashmirFiles and #Shyamsingharoy.'RRR' was considered one of the strongest contenders as the film received worldwide acclaim with many big league directors and film technicians rallying their support for the film. Starring ram charan and Jr. ntr, it also won the hollywood Critics Association Award as the second-best film of the year. Recently, Variety.com listed the film as a possible contender for the Oscars and also mentioned Jr. ntr in the list.


Nominations for the Oscars 2023 will be announced on january 24, 2023, and the ceremony will officially take place on march 12, 2023.
