The ycp government in andhra pradesh received a setback in the supreme court today. The National Green Tribunal had previously imposed a fine of Rs 120 crore for environmental violations in the polavaram project, which is considered the lifeline of the state. The ycp government approached the supreme Court. The supreme court, which heard the case, posed key questions to the government. Challenging the fine of Rs.120 crore imposed by the National Green Tribunal in the supreme court, the bench shocked the government that hired senior lawyers for arguments.
The supreme court has commented that it is ready to issue notices to the lawyers to know the cost. Due to this, the lawyers who were ready to argue on behalf of Jagan's government had to be taken aback. On this occasion, the supreme court asked why there was a need to hire so many senior lawyers for a single case.
The supreme court made these comments on the massive hiring of senior lawyers in the three appeals filed by the government. Pentapati Pullarao, who is the defendant, in this case, raised his arguments against the environmental violations committed by the government on Polavaram. After hearing these, the supreme court bench objected to the lawyers hired by the government to counter them.
