The controversy surrounding the contract that was signed by members of the Daspalla family and close family friends of ysr congress party general secretary and rajya sabha member v Vijay Sai reddy for the development of prime land measuring 15 acres in Visakhapatnam valued at more than Rs 2,000 crore has undoubtedly caused the mp a great deal of embarrassment. The mp obtained reliable information that the information was leaked to the media by some top YSRC leaders themselves, who are fostering a grudge against Sai Reddy. While the opposition parties are understandably protesting the agreement and calling for a cbi investigation into the entire deal, the mp is calling for an end to the protests.

According to sources within the party, Sai reddy protested about the sabotage attempts on the chief minister Y S jagan Mohan reddy and brought this to his attention. He specifically raised concerns about a senior figure who is tied to jagan and is in a significant position. In Visakhapatnam, this specific leader was working against Sai Reddy. It has been said that jagan summoned this YSRC official to his chamber and lifted him up. He said there were no anomalies in the entire Dasapalla land purchase, which was carried out with his full knowledge and in accordance with the supreme Court's instructions.

The party leader was instructed by the chief minister to refrain from interfering with the Dasapalla land deal moving forward. The Daspalla royal family of odisha and Assure Estates Developers LLP, whose directors are Sai Reddy's daughter and son-in-law, inked the development deal in june 2021. Due to the legal conflict, the Daspalla lands had been on the government's prohibited list up until that point. Shortly after the deal, they were taken off the list. The conflict was started by a document that the jagan government released on september 27 removing the Daspalla lands from the prohibited list and returning them to the Daspallas.
