Bride calls off wedding after finding groom drunk
She was persuaded by members of both families, but she declined, asking, "What is the future of a guy who could not abstain from alcohol on his own wedding day?" When the issue was brought up at the police station, both parties agreed to repay the money and jewels that had been traded during the pre-marriage rites. Avanish Singh, the station house officer in Safipur, stated that the two parties had reached a mutual settlement. He stated, "The two parties have agreed to return gifts that were previously exchanged between them."
Because the groom showed up inebriated at the wedding, a bride in the Safipur neighbourhood of unnao refused to wed him. The girl, who had completed Class 12, was set to wed the Kanpuri man. The groom stumbled onto the platform for the garland ceremony as the "baraat" approached in a drunken state. When she saw his condition, the bride declined to marry him and left the stage.
