Laththi Fails at Box Office miserably
Vishal's removal from patrol is explained in the opening sections, as is the moral conundrum he encounters after being put back on it. The drama then moves on to the main conflict of the narrative: the villains seeking to find the hero while the hero uses ingenuity to trap them. This lengthy episode, in which the villain tries to find the constable who vanquished him and the constable (hero) exhibits his superior intelligence, keeps our attention.
The paper-thin storyline, however, crumbles when our hero and the enemy ultimately cross paths. Up until the break, the director's talent was fully on display; now it's utterly gone. While it's admirable that the director and hero Vishal maintain the drama in the forefront rather than go off into duets and item numbers, the film's second act's draggy moments are tiresome. Furthermore, Vishal's impassioned monologue during the conclusion is challenging to watch.
