Producers Council Finally Locks Election Date!
Even though the term has ended, several producers have been protesting the delay in the Producers Council elections. Even some producers sat through Relay hunger strikes in protest of the delay. At the Council meeting today, there was also a stir on this matter. Several producers jeered Council President C. kalyan over the delayed election process. In the end, it was determined that the elections would take place on february 26. The election date will shortly be made public, along with additional information.
While the Producers Guild is attempting to override the Chamber and Council, there have been accusations made against the Council that it is not taking a proactive role in industry concerns. Even the Council and Chamber were persuaded by the Guild to shut down the industry for a month. c kalyan acknowledged the failure of the film on his own. The elections are taking place right now.
Prior to now, telugu films have been given preference over dubbed releases at festivals like dussehra and sankranti by the two Telugu-speaking states of andhra pradesh and Telangana. The telugu Film Producers Council stated in a statement that theatres participating in festivals should only show "Telugu straight films."
