capital city controversy, to which Union
minister Nityananda Rai responded.
"In accordance with Sections 5 and 6 of the
ap Bifurcation Act, a committee of specialists was established to investigate the viability of establishing a
capital city.
amaravati was designated as the
capital city following extensive investigation and evaluation of the experts committee's recommendations. Following the introduction of the
capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) Act, the Union
home Ministry was informed.
The
minister also stated that in 2020, the
ap administration suggested "Three Capitals" in place of the CRDA Act. However, these rulings were overruled, and the CRDA Act is still in effect. The Three Capitals Bill was dropped, but the CRDA Act is still in force, the
minister was informed. However, the
home Ministry advised the
parliament that nothing further needed to be added because the
capital dispute is now being heard by the
supreme Court.
