The Sambalpur sub-collector has issued a curfew under section 144(1) of the criminal Procedure Code, stating that no one or group is permitted to leave their homes in the jurisdictional areas of the Town police station, Dhanupali police station, Khetrajpur police station, Ainthapali police station, Bareipali police station, and Sadar police station of Sambalpur with immediate effect until further notice. This decision was made after receiving information about the state of the city.However, people are allowed to buy necessities from 8 am to 10 am and from 3 pm to 5 pm in case of an emergency. The sub-collector further stated that anyone who disobeys this instruction will data-face harsh legal consequences.According to sources, the recent violence on friday resulted in the burning of multiple stores.The odisha government stationed approximately 1,500 security officers in the city before to the evening march, and the "Maha Arati" event, which served as the centrepiece of the celebrations, was staged in the presence of a sizable posse of security personnel. The parade, which began at the Hanuman temple in the evening and travelled through sensitive regions, included 35 groups celebrating Hanuman Jayanti.In preparation for Hanuman Jayanti, a bike rally in Sambalpur on wednesday saw fighting between two communities.
