AGENT Box Office - ALL TIME DISASTER

S Venkateshwari
Agent, the most ambitious project in his career to date, held a lot of promise for akhil Akkineni. But sadly for him, the movie's box office performance turned out to be an enormous failure. The picture failed to take off at the box office due to the dreadful reviews it received for its US debuts as well as the extremely depressing domestic press coverage.

The movie had a disastrously bad opening day, and it became much worse throughout the weekend. In the majority of telugu state centers, Agent came in second place to Virupaksha (second weekend) in its first weekend. It trailed the poorly advertised dubbed feature PS2 in several places.

Even in the United States, Agent has a terrible tale to share. It got off to a slow start at the box office, earning only $150K from premieres and day 1. It brought in a pitiful $10K on Sunday, bringing the total to $183K. Currently, Agent is debatably among the worst films ever produced in Telugu. The outcome is embarrassing for akhil, Surender Reddy, and all those concerned. Given what was at stake with Agent, akhil ought to be struggling right now because the most expensive project of his career is now one of the biggest flops in telugu cinema history. His expectations have been dashed.
