Jailer Movie Review - The King has claimed his rightful throne back
Before we start this review, we need to clarify this is a complete Rajini movie filled with cameos of other actors. So don't expect a big screen space with so many star actors. All we can say is, Rajini is back. There have been several misses in the past few movies and Nelson who learned a big lesson with 'Beast' has ensured he doesn't repeat such mistakes. There's never a dull moment in the second half and mohanlal in particular will grab all whistles and claps. His role as Mathew is sure to get huge attention. Shivraj Kumar as Narasima also has been deadly with his looks and body language. Nelson utilized these stalwarts to perfection.
Yogi Babu brings the roof down with his witty one-liners and his collab scenes with Rajini are a real treat. Nelson's trademark dark comedy is spread throughout the movie. vinayakan is the deadly villain here and he proved his versatility. He is Superstar's archnemesis and he has done a tremendous job. The movie has several goosebumps moments, and Nelson crafted it to perfection. Coming to the technical side, Anirudh's music is the biggest backbone. He elevates Rajini's action scenes to the next level. Even a casual walking scene gets lots of whistles and howlings due to his BGM. Vijay Kartik Kannan's frames are perfect. The lighting and the color tone sets the mood of the scene naturally. Action scenes are brilliantly choreographed. Art director Kiran gets another notable mention for his realistic set work.
Overall, A Repeat Worthy Blockbuster
