Cauvery Management Commission's 22nd Meeting Convenes in delhi Officials from tamil Nadu, karnataka, puducherry and other states participated in this. Cauvery Management Authority Chairman SK Haldar presided over the meeting. Water Resources Secretary sandeep Saxena and Cauvery Technical Committee Chairman Subramaniam participated on behalf of tamil Nadu. In this meeting, the tamil Nadu government urged to release 38 TMC of water from Cauvery to tamil Nadu immediately. But it is said that karnataka refused to provide water. Therefore, the tamil Nadu officials walked out while the meeting was going on. In this situation, at the end of the meeting, the Cauvery Management Authority ordered the karnataka government to accept the request of tamil Nadu to open the Cauvery water.
Earlier, after walking out of the meeting, Water Resources Secretary sandeep Saxena said, "There is a shortage of 37.9 TMC of water in tamil Nadu as of 9th. Due to this, various problems are occurring in tamil Nadu every day. The tamil Nadu government has been continuously demanding this matter. In this meeting too, the karnataka government was urged to release the water belonging to tamil Nadu. We walked out of the Cauvery Management Commission meeting as the karnataka government refused to accept tamil Nadu's demand. 37.9 TMC of water should be given till the last 9th. But they didn't accept it."
