With the completion of its first orbit-raising test on Sunday, the ambitious Aditya L1 spacecraft of the indian space research organisation moved one step closer to completing its first Solar expedition. saturday saw the successful launch of Aditya-L1 by the PSLV-C57 launch vehicle by ISRO.

The new orbit is 245km x 22459km in data-size. The following manoeuvre (EBN#2) is planned for september 5, 2023, around 03:30 IST, according to a post on X by ISRO.Aditya-L1 Mission: The satellite is in good shape and performing as expected. From ISTRAC in Bengaluru, the first Earth-bound manoeuvre (EBN#1) was successfully carried out. The new orbit is 245km x 22459km in data-size. The satellite has already been precisely placed into the intended orbit by the vehicle, from which point it will travel for 125 days to reach the Sun-Earth L1 point. Finally, the spacecraft will be positioned in a halo orbit around the Sun-Earth system's Lagrange Point 1 (L1).The main benefit of having a satellite in the halo orbit around the L1 point is that it can continuously observe the sun without being blocked by clouds or experiencing eclipses. This will make it simpler to keep track of how the sun's activity impacts space weather in real time.
