History of World Food Day - It's about sharing...

October 16th is always observed as World Food Day. Every year, the promotion of global food security is the main focus of the World Food Day events. There are thousands of hungry individuals around the globe, and in order to address the issue of starvation, we must do more to increase awareness. The WFD can also be used to spread knowledge about wholesome eating habits. World Food Day is observed by numerous organizations worldwide, such as the World Food Programme and the international Fund for Agricultural Development.

History - The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), a specialized body of the United Nations, founded World Food Day in 1945.

It was declared a global holiday at the 20th FAO conference in november 1979, following 34 years of absence. After the United Nations officially recognized it, 150 nations continued to commemorate the occasion. The World Food Day has served as a platform to raise awareness of the need to feed everyone and end poverty in rural areas since 2014.

Recent years have seen the World Food Day use its yearly celebration day to highlight several data-facets of agriculture and food security, such as biodiversity, fishing communities, and climate change.
