Sunday morning, several explosions occurred during a Jehovah's Witness prayer service in the Kalamassery neighborhood of Kochi, kerala, resulting in one fatality and more than twenty injuries, according to police. The bomb location has been cordoned off, and police and fire rescue have been called into action, according to State industries Minister P Rajeev.

Ajith Kumar, the kerala ADGP (law and order), told reporters, as cited by news agency: "A person has turned himself up at the Kodakra police station in thrissur Rural, claiming to have done it. He goes by Dominic Martin and says he was a member of the same sabha. We're checking it out. We are investigating every data-facet of this matter.The explosion happened in the middle of the hallway."

The ADGP provided additional details, saying, "There was an explosion during the function that resulted in about 45 injuries and one fatality. Five more people have critical conditions. The deceased, who is thought to have been a woman, passed away from burn injuries; the other victims also suffered burn injuries. We are investigating it, and all relevant agencies, including central agencies, are present."

Kerala governor Arif Mohammed Khan voiced his sorrow for the deaths caused by the sunday morning blasts in Kalamassery, Kochi.

"Shocked to hear of the explosion that took place during a religious meeting in the Kalamassery region of kerala, causing more than 20 injuries and one death. In a statement, kerala Raj Bhavan expressed its "heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayers for a speedy recovery of the injured."
