Israel - Hamas War : We didn't give OK to Israel for Gaza hospital raid says US
"We did not give the OK to their military operations around the hospital," National Security Council spokesman john Kirby said after Hamas attacked US President Joe Biden, saying he was "wholly responsible" for the raid.
Joe Biden met with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but the white house would clarify whether the US president was warned.
"I won't go into detail about the conversation," he added, adding that "there's no expectation by the united states to map it all out."
The US has "certainly talked to them about concerns about civilians."
This comes after the white house supported Israeli assertions that Hamas established a command center beneath Gaza's Al Shifa hospital.
"We are comfortable with our own intelligence assessment," the white house stated.
What Hamas said on Gaza hospital raid
"The adoption by the white house and the Pentagon of the occupation's false claim that the resistance is using al-Shifa medical complex for military ends has given the green light to the occupation to commit more massacres against civilians," the statement went on to say.
"Do you remember when they said we weren't going to invade Gaza?" We broke in. They predicted we wouldn't make it to Gaza City's outskirts; we did. We proceeded inside Shifa (the hospital) despite their warnings. "There is no hiding place, no shelter, no refuge for Hamas murderers," the Israeli prime minister declared. "We will get there and we will take out Hamas and we will bring home our hostages--those are our two holy missions," he went on to say.
