Israel - Hamas War : Body of hostage found near Gaza hospital, claims Israeli army

SIBY JEYYA
The body of a captive taken by Hamas terrorists in their strikes on southern israel on october 7 was discovered by Israeli forces near Gaza's main hospital, the army said Thursday. The killed lady was named as Yehudit Weiss by a military official, who said she was "murdered" by terrorists in the war-torn Palestinian area.
"Yehudit was murdered by terrorists in Gaza, and we were unable to reach her in time," spokesperson Daniel Hagari said during a live briefing.
Through its continuous shelling of the Gaza Strip, Hamas has often claimed israel of being responsible for the deaths of captives, including Israelis.
According to Israeli sources, over 240 persons were held captive during the Hamas strikes, which killed approximately 1,200 people, the majority of whom were civilians.
According to Hamas government sources, Israel's airstrikes and ground invasion have killed around 11,500 Palestinians, predominantly civilians, including thousands of children, since then.
According to the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, Weiss, 65, was taken from her house on october 7 when Hamas terrorists raided her Gaza data-border kibbutz settlement of Beeri.
According to the Israeli organisation, her husband was killed in the strike, and the couple had five children, four of whom were also in Beeri at the time of the bombing and survived.
Israeli special forces raided Al-Shifa hospital early Wednesday, with an official stating they discovered hostage footage on laptops inside the institution.
According to Hamas, the operation has seriously damaged the hospital, which has been a focal focus of Israel's battle on Hamas.
Israel says that Hamas has a stronghold beneath Al-Shifa, which the Islamist movement rejects.
According to the army, "military equipment including Kalashnikov rifles and RPGs" were discovered near Weiss's body.
Earlier, an Israeli official stated that forces were "proceeding one building at a time, searching each floor, all while hundreds of patients and medical staff remain in the complex."
According to the official, intelligence documents, including equipment "belonging to Hamas," were discovered in Al-Shifa, and the items confiscated were taken for "further examination and investigation."
According to an AFP correspondent inside the hospital, hundreds of soldiers were part in the operation, which comprised surrounding buildings and pushing through walls with armoured bulldozers.
