According to Israel's envoy to the United Nations, when israel completes its objective to eliminate the Hamas terror group, it will discuss the future of Gaza with Arab countries. "We are doing the dirty work for many of these Arab countries," Gilad Erdan said earlier this week to the Tazpit press Service. Conversations with Arab nations regarding administering a post-Hamas Gaza have yet to begin, according to Israel's representative to the international organization.
TPS questioned Erdan on a possible intermediate solution in which saudi arabia and gulf states collaborate with israel to oversee Gaza. "I'm sure many of the Arab countries that you mentioned know that Hamas is their enemy, no less than it's our enemy, because it's like a subsidiary of the Muslim Brotherhood," Erdan was quoted as saying. "They are the enemy of many, many moderate Muslim countries." israel will not tolerate, even on an interim basis, an international force under the aegis of the United Nations gaining security control of Gaza.
Erdan, a harsh opponent of the global body, particularly its Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, blames the UN for the present Gaza catastrophe. "The UN played a big role in allowing Hamas to turn the Gaza Strip into a war machine, a terror machine against israel and against the civilized world," Erdan was quoted as saying. Erdan believes that when israel wins the war, the Israeli government should conduct "a serious assessment of our relations with the UN."
"My recommendations will be to expel and not to issue visas to some of the U.N. officials, who are exploiting their position in order to spread lies, in order to enable Hamas to embed themselves within an under civilian population in Gaza and many other terrible things that Hamas have been doing for the last 16 years under the nose of U.N. agencies," a senior U.N. official stated.
