Red Alert in Sabarimala..!? Warning..! Heavy rain..?

An orange alert has been sounded in thiruvananthapuram and idukki districts of Kerala. A red alert has been announced for pathanamthitta district where sabarimala is located. The indian Meteorological Department on wednesday issued a red alert for the pathanamthitta district of the state as heavy rains continue to fall in several parts of Kerala. An orange alert has been issued in thiruvananthapuram and idukki districts. A yellow alert has been issued in all districts except Kannur and Kasaragod.
The indian Meteorological Department stated in the evening saying that moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur in kerala for the next 5 days. It has also been reported that heavy rain is likely to occur in some places in the state from november 22 to 24.


Heavy rains continue to lash Kerala:

Light to moderate rain with gusty winds may occur in one or two places, especially in thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, pathanamthitta, Kottayam, idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, wayanad and Kannur districts. The walk is open for the annual Mandal and Makaravilakku Puja at the sabarimala Ayyappan temple in pathanamthitta district. Meanwhile, thousands of devotees who went to sabarimala Ayyappan temple data-faced difficulties due to heavy rain on Tuesday.
A red alert indicates heavy to very heavy rainfall of more than 20 cm in 24 hours. An orange alert means very heavy rainfall of 6 cm to 20 cm. A yellow warning is in place for 6 to 11 cm of heavy rain.
