Despite an injury scare while on international duty with Norway, Erling Haaland might participate in Manchester City's Premier League encounter against Liverpool on Saturday. Haaland was injured against the Faroe Islands last week and did not play against scotland on Sunday. However, City boss Pep Guardiola stated on friday that the striker is still in contention for the top-of-the-table meeting with Liverpool.

"He trained yesterday with some niggles," that's what he stated. "Today we are in the last training, he can play a part."

This season, Haaland has 20 goals in 22 games for club and country.

Defending champion City leads the table by one point over Liverpool.

City and Liverpool have been the dominating sides in english soccer's top division in recent years, and Jurgen Klopp appears poised to challenge Guardiola once more after revamping his squad.

Liverpool attempted a historic clean sweep of trophies two seasons ago, but came up empty-handed and lost out on Champions League qualifying.

"This team doesn't have to pass a test now, the direction we are going — up — is really the right one, that is obvious," Klopp told reporters. Stay tuned with us for more updates.
