According to an interview with Biden-appointed U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) commissioner richard Trumka Jr., "a ban on gas stoves is on the table" owing to health concerns. However, both Trumka Jr. and the CPSC head, Alexander Hoehn-Saric, eventually stressed that no definite measures to prohibit gas stoves were in the works.
"Research indicates that emissions from gas stoves can be hazardous, and the CPSC is looking for ways to reduce related indoor air quality hazards," Hoehn-Saric went on to say. "To be clear," Trumka Jr. said, "the CPSC isn't coming for anyone's gas stoves."
