16 more hostages released from Gaza on last day of extended Israel-Hamas truce
According to the terms of the Qatari-mediated agreement, 30 Palestinians -- 16 youngsters and 14 women -- will be freed on wednesday in return, according to Majed Al-Ansari, a spokeswoman for Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ansari stated that two Russian people and four Thai citizens were released outside the parameters of the accord, while the ten Israeli individuals released comprised five dual citizens. He identified one Dutch dual citizen who is also a minor, three German dual citizens, and one American dual citizen.
The Israeli Prime Minister's office has previously named two Russian-Israeli ladies released on wednesday night as Yelena Trupanov, 50, and Irena Tati, 73. Video from Hamas' armed wing shows the ladies being turned up to the international Committee of the red Cross and being taken out of Gaza.
