Is CCTV mandatory in all medical shops..!?
The district collector has issued an action order to install CCTV in all drug shops in the madurai district. In the past few days in madurai district, it has been reported that crime incidents have been on the rise in various areas due to the consumption of sleeping pills and tonics by minors. To prevent this, a study meeting was held by the madurai district Child Welfare Office.
At that time, it was recommended that strict action should be taken against the pharmacies that sell excessive amounts of sleeping pills without any doctor's prescription to control drug addiction among minors. In this case, madurai district collector Sangeetha has issued an order that it is mandatory to install CCTV in all drug shops in madurai within 30 days.
In this regard, madurai district collector Sangeeta issued a notification;- All drugs and tablets sold in madurai district under the drugs and Cosmetics Act- 1940 and Rules 1945 Schedules "X" and "H" and "H1" drugs related to mental health treatments. Shops have also been ordered under Section 133 of the Code of criminal Procedure-1973 to install surveillance cameras within 30 days from today. The madurai district collector has warned that in case the concerned officers inspect the dispensaries that are not equipped with surveillance cameras, appropriate legal action will be taken against the owner for not following the above order.
