The
bharatiya janata party (BJP) announced a new generation of leadership in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and
chhattisgarh to bring about a generational transition. The substantial shift in the party's state
politics generated concerns about the future of the party's old guard of Vasundhara Raje, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Raman Singh. JP Nadda, the BJP's national president, spoke extensively on their future roles and the party's selection procedure for new CMs.
Speaking at the Agenda Aaj Tak 2023 conference, Nadda stated that all three former CMs are senior
party leaders and will be granted future jobs that reflect their status in the party. "Everyone in the
party gets their due. "Our
party does not stop at using even a small worker," he stated.
When asked if any of the past CMs expressed dissatisfaction, Nadda stated that using demanding
language such as "sit down" is inappropriate. "I tell them, 'You have made an important contribution to the party.'" We need your help since we're going in a different route."
The selection process of CMs in 3 statesThe
bjp national president went on to explain how his organization does extensive study to pick not just prominent leaders but also grassroots leaders.
"All
workers in the
bjp are closely observed--their history, their activities, and their responses." And we have a massive data
bank that we
review on occasion," he explained.
He went on to say that the procedure began when the
election dates were announced and the
party began issuing tickets. "When the
election was declared, the process of selection began when we gave tickets to the candidates...who will be our
leader, who will be a good
leader for opposition or ruling." It is an ongoing process. The procedure becomes more intense following the
election results. There is much consultation. "The same is true for
cabinet selection," he stated.
